Meet the 2017 SEP Interns

June 20, 2017

Elliot Yesmunt

Software Engineering Intern

School: IUPUI

Major: Computer Science

Project: Web-based suite of management tools

“I really enjoy the teamwork here. It’s easy to get stuck on single problems for long periods of time when working by yourself in software. With a team, pair-programming and mob-programming can significantly cut down on the amount of time banging your head against one issue. The non-competitive atmosphere is also an attraction to me, because it is key to having teams with good chemistries.”

Maria Nix

Business Intern

School: Indiana University

Major: Finance & Business Analytics

Project: A little bit of everything! Currently working on a data system exploration project, employee benefit project, and client analytics.

“I chose SEP because I wanted to explore a career in technology, although my majors are both Finance-focused. SEP seemed like the place that could offer me a good mix of both, and so far, I have not been disappointed! The company culture, with an emphasis on learning, is another element that drew me to this company.”

Alex Leisring

Business Intern

School: Indiana University

Major: Finance

Project: Data System Discovery and Reporting

“I chose to Intern at SEP due to the company culture and size. As a smaller business, SEP provides the opportunity to be more involved in many different areas of the business and makes communication very easy. Even before working here, it was clear that SEP would ensure that we would feel important to the company and that they would respect our contributions, even as interns.”

Judah Doupe

Software Engineering Intern

School: Taylor University

Major: Computer Science

Project: A Windows application for aiding in the design of construction materials

“I chose SEP because I wanted to get experience with software engineering, and it would be hard to find a better fit than SEP.”

Adam Tapper

Software Engineering Intern

School: IUPUI

Major: Computer Science

Project: Web-based Notification System for Construction Equipment

“I have heard nothing but great things about SEP and the practices of the engineers here from my friends in the field, and I wanted to work in an environment where I had maximal learning potential. In addition to this, it was clear that the environment here was very unique and fostered creativity and uniqueness.”

Rebecca Keys

Product Experience Intern

School: Purdue University

Major: Industrial Engineering

Project: Community Hero- A web and app service that connects volunteers with local projects and organizations

“I was delighted to return for a second internship with SEP this summer because the culture of collaboration and growth here is unbeatable. I knew coming into my internship that I would have the opportunity to work on meaningful projects that would make a real impact on users.”

Christina Shi

Software Engineering Intern

School: Purdue University

Major: Computer Engineering

Project:  An embedded display for agricultural machinery

“One of the reasons I chose to intern at SEP was the variety of the projects that the company takes on. Beyond that, the company culture seemed like one that really encourages learning, sharing knowledge and experiences, and constantly growing and improving. I could tell that I would gain a lot from being here while also getting to be part of something really meaningful.”

Neil Gupta
