What drew you to SEP? “Interning with SEP last summer only reinforced the idea of wanting to work here once again. The people here are awesome, and the culture is second to none!

This summer, I want to learn more about software development processes, like:

  • how SEP creates quotes,
  • how our IT infrastructure works,
  • and even what good UX design looks like.

I’ve been curious and wanting to learn more in these areas, and there’s no better place than SEP to do that!”

Fun Fact: “I can speak both Korean and English.”

What drew you to SEP? “I was drawn to SEP for the best learning opportunity. Because of the small company culture and location, people are always willing to help you learn.

I am hoping to learn about the mobile development space. I haven’t been able to pick up much on the topic on my own time, so it would be great to try and learn while surrounded by others with lots of experience in the space.

Another skill I would like to delve into is writing meaningful unit tests. Often in classes, the unit tests are written for you, so it is a valuable skill that I hope to pick up during my time here.”

Fun Fact: “I have a collection of over 100 golf balls with various logos on them, such as Kings Island.”

What drew you to SEP? “I initially heard about SEP on Handshake and was interested in working at a software engineering company in Indiana. After looking into the company, I found only positive feedback and experiences. I also liked the idea of working at a consulting company since I would have the opportunity to learn and work on many different things.

While here, I want to learn as much as possible about working in a professional environment and new software and programming languages.”

Fun Fact: “I coach one of the esports teams at IU.”

What drew you to SEP? “I sought out a software development company in Indiana, largely to see if the Midwest lived up to the hype. I’m from New England and have watched a lot of Charlie Berens videos about the region! In addition to learning more about software engineering at SEP, I get to explore the state and its beautiful countryside.

As part of my experience so far, we traveled to see how steel trusses are made. The journey through miles of giant windmills was just as fascinating as watching twenty men weld and manufacture a 1-ton joist in what seemed like five minutes. I don’t know how many software companies would offer such an opportunity.”

Fun Fact: “I currently work on Northeastern’s FSAE Electric Racing team, where we build a formula-style all-electric race car.”

What drew you to SEP? “Having enjoyed my internship experience with SEP last summer, I wanted to come back and work on a different team to experience how other teams work within SEP.

This year, I am working on a mobile application, which I have never done before. I am excited to learn more about mobile development and work on a larger team!”

Fun Fact: “I have competed twice in the USA Curling College National Championship.”

What drew you to SEP? “I was drawn to SEP for the opportunity to work on real projects for real clients, and I have heard great things about SEP’s flexible and friendly work culture!

As a part of the AI team this summer, I’m excited to apply the knowledge I’ve gained in my studies to practical AI applications and learn all that I can from the more experienced team members. I also hope to gain more experience working with different ML frameworks in end-to-end software development and learn more about the software sales process.”

Fun Fact: “I once received a magic lesson from Penn Jillette in Las Vegas!”
