Westfield, IN — August 31, 2026 —After nearly three decades of shaping who SEP is and how we work, Chris Atkinson, our Chief Delivery Officer, has announced his retirement, effective August 31, 2026.
Chris joined SEP in 1997, coming from an engineering role at UPS after earning his Electrical Engineering degree from Purdue University in 1993. At the time, SEP employed just 30 people. Chris joined as a software engineer and, over nearly 30 years, grew alongside the company, eventually stepping into leadership and helping shape SEP into what it is today.
Chris played a key role in opening the door to SEP’s work in Life Sciences and Healthcare, building the expertise needed to navigate regulated, FDA-compliant environments. He was also instrumental in SEP’s ISO 9001 certification, a process that began in 2001 and resulted in certification in 2003, a distinction the company has held ever since. Beyond those milestones, Chris is known around SEP for something harder to measure: how he connects with clients, and how many leaders he’s helped shape along the way.
Chris’s commitment to the broader tech community has been just as strong as his commitment to SEP. He was one of four founding board members of AgileIndy, served eight years on the board, and chaired it from 2014 to 2019, helping grow awareness and adoption of agile practices and supporting a strong local community of practitioners. He’s also spent 11 years volunteering with Gleaners Food Bank and has served as SEP’s liaison for our multi-year partnership with the organization, extending the same generosity to our community that he’s shown to everyone at SEP.
“As I begin a new season, I am so grateful to have been a part of SEP. From my early days writing software to having a role leading the company, I am fortunate to be part of such a great company. I have had so many interesting products to have a hand in, challenging projects to collaborate on, and great clients to serve. What stands out most of all are the amazing people I’ve worked with and become friends with at SEP.”
-Chris Atkinson
“We work hard to build a place someone could spend a whole career. It’s deeply fulfilling to see things work as intended. Chris has had a profound impact on SEP – 29 years, most in key leadership roles. He also left an enduring mark on all of us with his wisdom, care, and leadership. We are so excited for him and grateful for the time we had together,” said Raman Ohri, SEP’s President & CEO.
Please join us in congratulating Chris on an extraordinary, one-of-a-kind career, and in wishing him all the best in this next chapter.
