North White High School student awarded The SEP Foundation Maker Scholarship to pursue cybersecurity studies at Purdue

Juan MataWestfield, Indiana – The SEP Foundation announced on Thursday, July 20th, the latest SEP Foundation Maker Scholarship recipient. This year’s winner, Juan Mata, graduated from North White High School in 2023 and is set to attend Purdue University in the fall to study Cybersecurity.

This marks the fourth annual award of the Maker Scholarship, furthering The SEP Foundation’s mission to support underrepresented groups pursuing STEAM education.

“Juan’s story is incredible. Excelling in academic and community performance and succeeding in rural Indiana, he has shown remarkable resilience and determination,” says Raman Ohri, CEO at SEP, of this year’s winner.

The scholarship awards $5,000 per year while the student is enrolled at an accredited institution in the state of Indiana.
