Indianapolis Hosts First Major Agile Conference
As a leader in the software industry, SEP strives to stay abreast of best practices, tools, and thought leaders in the community. In 2012, AgileIndy, a non-profit organization devoted to raising awareness and acceptance of agile practices, announced it would host its inaugural conference.
This one-day, multi-track event covered all aspects of Agile Software Development—the first of its kind in Indianapolis and an ideal opportunity for SEP to get involved.
“We were thrilled to find out that AgileIndy was organizing this conference,” said Kelly Wilson, Director of Marketing & Public Relations at SEP. “Throughout the year we’re involved with so many conferences across the country, it was perfect to have something in our own backyard. The ability to get a sold-out conference in its first year was definitely a sign that the local market was ready for an event of this caliber.”
SEP’s Decade of Agile Experience
SEP has been following many principles and practices of agile for almost 10 years. Becoming involved with AgileIndy and the group’s first conference allowed the company to give back to the city and share how iterative software development has influenced its growth.
AgileIndy board member and SEP Engineering VP Chris Atkinson was thrilled about the conference’s success. “It was very exciting to see such a great turnout for our very first AgileIndy conference! I look forward to continuing to encourage improvement in software engineering practices by sharing our experiences with the local development communities.”
